2 Truths & a lie: ANSWERED

What's up, Buttercups? :)

I'm going to answer the burning question: Which one was the lie?

1. I once went out (as in to a bar/party) every night for 21 days straight.

This statement is 100% true. Sophomore year my roommate and bestie, Jen, got a job as an on campus bartender. (At U of I you only need to be 19 to get into the bars, but still 21 to drink!) So we were enjoying life going out every night when we only spent maybe $5 each time. We would usually be doing homework and someone would look up and say "I'm almost finished, if you get done by 9, we can go to the bar!". Usually in our yoga pants. It was the best 21 nights ever:)

 2. I have a tattoo that I got as a "I can because I'm 18 and I want to" kind of thing.
I actually got my belly button pierced my freshman year at college because I felt like I needed to do a "because I can" thing. I don't smoke, so I didn't buy cigaretts, and I didn't (and still don't) know of a tattoo I would want for the rest of my lfe, so I went the piercing route. I figured if I hated it, it could still close up:)
But it's still going strong to this day:) So this one was the lie.

3. I once threw a huge party at my grandparents house and didn't get caught.
Yes, this definitely happened. My entire family was on vacation at our lakehouse in the summer and I had to come back a few days early because I was going to Country Thunder in Wisconsin that weekend. Well what better opportunity to throw a party for all my friends?
I played it smart and only had my closest friends over and to this day my grandparents have no idea:)

Well there you have it, my 2 truths and a lie.
I was surprised by how many people think I have a tattoo! It's always my go to "Never Have I Ever" when we play at parties:)

Hope you're having a happy Monday!

1st Date Outfits

Those of you who Like me on Facebook saw that I was inspired by an article I read in Cosmo about 1st date outfits.

I mean, it totally sucks picking out an outfit in general.
Will I be too cold?
Am I too dressy for where I'm going?
I don't have anything to wear.

You get the idea.
And a first date outfit is even worse.

What is he going to wear?
Should I try to be dressy or more casual?
Does this make me look like a chunky monkey?

Chances are that there is nothing in your closet you want to wear.

Well today using my pinterest board for inspiration, I'm going to show a few outfits that I think are adorable 1st date picks!

the date: Going to the movies:

Wear with cute flats or sandals for a more casual look!

the key: Wear layers, it might be cold in the theater and depending on if you want to snuggle up to him or not, bring a light jacket just in case!

the date: Going out to dinner:

Chances are he's not going to take you to a 5 star culinary experience on your first date. whew. So you probably don't need to get too dressy. A simple dress with flats or jeans and a nice shirt will do.

the key: You don't have to be too fancy, but choosing a shirt with an eye catching deatail feels a little dressier. Use can also use jewelry to dress it up!

the date: Meeting him for drinks:
Blazer optional;)

Obviously you want to look hot. But we don't want to go overboard here. Now is the time to whip out these cute new heels but not with that uber short dress you just got at Forever.
the key: Don't show too much skin, but look sexy and classy at the same time. And hey, at least if it doesn't work out, you look hot and can pick up a new guy!

the date: Going mini-golfing:

Doing something physical requires flats. You do not want to be that girl trying to mini golf in your stilettos. No bueno.
the key: You want to look cute but still be able to more around and not look like a fool. This outfit also transfers well into dinner or maybe ice cream afterwards if that's where the night takes you:)

What do you gals think? Did I miss anything or would you wear something different? Show me those outfits!

And since I know you're still wondering which one is the lie from yesterday's Two Truths & A Lie post.....
I'll tell ya Monday!

***And!! Stay tuned for a surprise later this week with Alana from Life & Times and PK&W!
Happy Weekending!

Two Truths & A Lie

Today we're giong to play a fun game:)
I'm sure you already know the one I'm talking about since it's in my post title, so if you don't, shame on you for not paying attention!
Just kidding.
It's Thursday, which is riiiight before Friday and we all know how terribly well we concentrate when our brains are in weekend mode.
Anyway, back to the game.
Two Truths & A Lie.

I'm going to tell you three things, two of them truths, and one of them a lie. Post a comment telling me which one you think it the lie!

1. I once went out (as in to a bar/party) every night for 21 days straight.
2. I have a tattoo that I got as a "I can because I'm 18 and I want to" kind of thing.
3. I once threw a huge party at my grandparents house and didn't get caught.

There you have it ladies. Which one is the lie? :)

I'm curious to hear which one you ladies think is the lie!
Happy Guessing!

Party Planner

Snickerdoodles,

so far this week I'm become totally obsessed with planning an 8th birthday party for one of my favorite little nuggets.

Things you should know:

1. This little boy proposed to me with a spiderman ring (the ones that come on top of cupcakes) because I make the best popcorn and let him eat pizza when he wants it. His name is Logan and I adore him:)

2. I love planning things. Celebratory things. Go check out my Pinterest if you don't believe me!

3. My family knows this is one of my favorite side hobbies and have "hired" me to help them with their parties.

All of my pictures are on my old computer, but when I get it back I'll be sure to post some of the parties I've done before.
This year's theme is Angry Birds!

I've been finding some super cute ideas online and of course, Pinterest!

I'm in the works of making/getting all of these things right now and I can't wait to show you guys the pictures of my hard work!!

Happy Tuesday, Y'all!

50 Shades & a Bonus

Hello! It's so nice to be back in the blogging world:)
My weekend was fabulous, but I still have to upload all of my pictures so you're going to have to wait for a recap on that.

But I did want to tell you all about the book that I'm reading.
Yes, I'm a book nerd.
A card carrying one at that;)

Usually I head to bed around 10 (yes, I'm also secretly a 90 year old woman) but last night I looked like this:

I was seriously so entranced I stayed up until well past my bedtime so I could "read a few more 100 pages" . Like until 2 AM.
And as a result, I'm tired today.
But it was so worth it!

What book am I reading, you ask?

50 Shades of Grey.

Go read it.
Seriously!
I literally can not put it down.
(May or may not be guilty of reading it on my lunch break. Not sorry!)

And a bonus: You guys should go check out my Facebook page for a little surprise!
Hope you darlings are having  a fabulous Monday.
smooches.

My life.

Remember when I said I was going to post every day this week?
Apparently the blogging gods do not feel the same way as I do.

My computer is broken.
ka put.
dead as a doornail.
dunzo.

Yeah, not impressed.

The poor guy at the geek squad in Best Buy was so apologetic when he told me that it would be about $600 to fix, it was kind of cute.
but then I really realized what he said.

$600?#!$!&*%

that's a joke. right??

So as much as I'd love to be writing a post about my awesome time at Opening Day and overloading you with pictures, I can't exactly upload them to the work computer (where I'm writing this post!).

My mom is bringing our extra laptop down with her this weekend for Mom's Weekend so after that I should be able to get back into the swing of things. Until then, it's pictureless posts from the work computer:(

Hopefully your week got off to a better start than mine did, snickerdoodles!

Le Weekend

This weekend was a busy one. But I had a great time seeing lots of family and eating lots of food.

Friday was a friend's 21st birthday!
This is Alex and I at her birthday dinner!

We went to the Tilted Kilt, anybody heard of it?
Whenever I told anyone where we were going, they were all "Omg, best food ever! It's going to be so good!"
Liars. All of them.

The food was terrible and it took us THREE HOURS to get through dinner.
Not to mention, I went up to the bar to buy Alex, Matt, and I a shot to celebrate her birthday. I asked for 3 Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shots (Sooo good btw!)
He told me "that'll be $23, please."
I think I had a heart attack right there!
Guys. I don't even manage to spend that in a while NIGHT down here at school!
Moral of the story: I'm never drinking after graduation unless I'm at a house party. So high school;)

Saturday I colored about a million eggs.
Some of them were even sparkly! I bet you never would have guessed the Pink Glitter egg in the front row was all mine;)

And Saturday night, we went out to dinner and I went to watch Matt bowl as a fill in on his parent's bowling team. It was actually pretty fun even if I wasn't even bowling!
I also stopped at a (the) local bar on my way home to see my friend Jen. Ended up staying out until wayyyy too late for having to wake up at 6 AM! But it was totally worth it:)

Sunday was all about eating. I think I ate literally every hour. There was just so. much. food.
Not that I'm complaining;)
I got lots of Easter goodies including flowers from Matt,
Pretty Tulips:)

and some candy/money/clothes goodies in the Easter basket!

I hope everyone's Easter was just as fabulous!

Fashion trends I never understood.....

Hello Ladies:)

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! This week is just flying by. Can't argue with that!
Hollerrr!

Well today I want to talk to you guys about the fashion trends I never understood.
I am in NO WAY a fashionista (although I'd like to think I do a pretty decent job of looking acceptable!), but there are some things I just do. not. get.

For example,

TOMS.
Someone please explain the appeal of these?
They're philanthropic you say?
I say donate to Make-A-Wish and call it a day.

 Questionable Fashion Trend #2
Maxi Skirts.

To me, they scream Little House on the Prairie.
But maybe it's just because I'm so short? (I ring in a a whopping 5 feet 2 inches. On a good day)
And I usually think of a skirt/dress as a cooler option in hot weather. But maxi skirts just look like they're trapping in the heat! Hellooo uncomfortable.

Let's mix this next one up a little bit with a double whammy.
Graphic Tees & Crop Tops

 I have no words.
I don't usually think this looks good on anyone who's not a model. And sometimes not even they look good!

And for a special boy edition of Questionable Fashion Trends,
Leaving the sticker on flat brim hats.

Isn't that the same as me walking around with a tag still on my jeans/shirt and leaving it there on purpose for everyone to see?
Why is that a good idea?

If any of you wear these trends, please feel free to try and convince me that they are awesome! But until then, I'll be shakin' my head whenever I see these runnin' around the streets.

People these days;)

Happy hump day, y'all!
Tell me some of your most hated fashion trends (in case I missed any) and I'll tell you if I'm guilty or not!

Yeah....about that.

My allergies are currently kicking.my.ass.
I can't remember them being this bad for a long time. I'm talking, I sneezed for 20 straight minutes yesterday.
And I've gone through a box of tissues. TMI? Nahh, you know I'm all about being open up in this betch.

So yeah.
Thank goodness I get to work from home for my internship today!
Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of actual work getting done, but rather a lot of watching friends from DVR
 You know this show's irresistable!

Oh well.

Has anyone else had a problem with allergies lately??
I'm dyin' over here!

Have a good Tuesday, Babydolls!

Back to the Grind

Monday, Monday.
It's back.
::le sigh::

But I will tell you all it was a fantastic weekend!

I started it off by winning a Freebie Friday from Cherry on Top (Go check her out! She's adorable!)
My lil ole blog is getting the hook-up lately!
Thank you so so much to Melissa to designing a signature for me!

& I finished up some shopping for Matt's birthday in a few weeks as well as for his Easter basket.
Friday was awesome.

Oh, and I managed to pick up a set of the Hunger Games Trilogy.
I've been holding off because I am a die hard reader and I didn't want to get sucked into the books during a busy school or work week!

But let me just tell you, They. Are. AWESOME.
'nuff said.

Saturday I spent reading book two, and going to a vineyard for a wine tasting!

This was a picture of the grapes through the window as we were driving up!

My "tall" sangria. It was sooooo delicious!
I've also discovered that I hate red wine, but love sweet white wine (like moscato) but also semi-sweet white wine. Good thing I tried them all;)

Sunday was spent relaxing, reading the third book of the Hunger Games, and finishing last minute homework.
This upcoming week is going to be slightly busy for me because I have an outline and research due for my speech class, so I'm glad I got my relaxing in over the weekend!

Hope your Monday is flying by!
