Happy St. Patty's Day! (A little late)

Hi there! Long time no talk.

Bad blogger, I know.

But, I'm totally ready to blow you away with awesome stories of my St. Patty's Day!

I spent most of the evening looking like this:

Rockin' my moustache straw!

The moustache straws were one of the favors for the bridal shower the next day and we had extra, so I took one to the party to differentiate my cup from everyone elses.

Yes, I'm a smart cookie like that.

The moustache spent a lot of time being passed around. everyone wanted a picture with it!

It was unfortunately lost (but eventually returned!) sometime during the evening.

The fun hasn't started until the moustache shows up.

Aside from the moustache, I spent time with my besties:

Heather (my roomie!) and Sam(in the middle) are sisters and the three of us have been friends for 8 years.

I'm often referred to as the third daughter of their family because funnily enough, for 6 months of the year, we are all right in a row for ages.

Right now, Heather is 22, I'm 21, and Sam is 20. I fit right in!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, Lovebugs!

I'm so excited it's Valentine's Day! You all know it's one of my favorite holidays and this year is no different.  Yesterday I posted about my Swap haul.  But it couldn't compare to mine and Matt's Valentine's celebration....

This weekend I went home because Matt had a "surprise" date planned out. I say "surprise" because he may or may not be the worst secret keeper I've ever met! Ha, it was too cute though. He was just so excited he couldn't help giving me clues:)


Friday night he took me to P.F. Changs (My fave!) and we had a delicious dinner and dessert:) It mayyy be one of the best dates I've been on. Not to get all mushy, but it was nice because we were comfortable with each other and had a ton to talk about. This date got an A+ in my book.

Lettuce Wrap Appetizer. SO GOOD.

Sunday before I went back to school, he took me to see The Vow. ::swoon:: He remembered hearing me say that I wanted to see it so he bought tickets for us to see it together. I knew there was a reason I liked him;)

Channing Tatum is hot.

And my present? He got me a gift card to Pink/Victoria Secret. Ha, I swear it's because he knows I live in their yoga pants and zip hoodies on the weekends:)  And usually I don't love gift cards as presents (giving or receiving) but this time it worked out because it was our first time buying actual gifts for each other:)

It was a really great weekend and it totally makes up for not being able to see each other today. And I have to pick up a Valentine's care package from my grandma on my lunch break. I can't wait to see what she sent me:)

Monday Monday

Top of the morning, Cupcakes!


It's already been quite the Monday for me.
I woke up late which means I slept through class after not getting back from our initiation ceremonies until 11:30 last night AND I've already been to the gym.  Hopefully those gym endorphins make me feel less dumb for missing class. I feel like a total freshman! Whoops.  Hopefully this doesn't set the tone for my week!

And to top everything off, I didn't get to go to Purdue this weekend thanks to the awesome ::insert sarcasm::  weather.We've postponed it for a few weeks because this weekend I'm going home for Caleb's 9th Birthday and to see the boy. 

We're going to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse Friday. Have you ever been? They make the food right there on the grill in front of you and they do awesome tricks:)

And then on Saturday we're going to an indoor waterpark/hotel. It's kind of like the Wisconsin Dells but it's in Illinois and only an hour away as opposed to 4!

Yes, that means I'll be rocking a swimsuit about 5 months early. ::gulp::

Mayyyyyybe I'll be making a second trip to the gym today...just to tone up of course;) Happy Monday!

LDRs and why they are awesome

 

Let me just say that I'm appreciative that I have found someone who is ok with being in a long distance relationship, but let's be honest. It kinda sucks.  Sometimes I just want to be able to go over to his apartment or have him come over to mine. Without that whole 2 hour drive thing of couse;) But there are tons of reasons why it. is. awesome. 

1. You don't have to shave your legs everyday! You're welcome;)
2. Like the photo above, you do learn to really appreciate the time that you do get to spend together
3. When the other person is annoying you, it's easy to have your own space and cool down
4. We seem to fight less because we don't want to waste our time that we get to be together
5. It's way cheaper  -Helloooooo Skype dates! (and free-ness!)
6. Being able to focus attention on the things we need to- Me on school and him on his job
7. Knowing there is an end date of being long distance in sight

While this is all true, I can't lie and tell you ladies that I'm not happy to be home from school and a more manageable 20 minutes away from each other.  I'm enjoying it while I can and soaking it up to enough to last me till May:)

Im baaaaaack!

And I'm back with a weekend recap! Woo Woo!

I feel like I've been gone from you guys for so long and I definitely just spent about 2 hours reading through my dashboard to try and catch up with all of your lives!  I missed blogging and I'm excited to be back at it :)


Last week was crazy busy and I literally just could not find time to blog.  But I'm happy to say that I am officially (and successfully) done with the semester. My last two finals were actually pretty easy and I can't wait to check out my final grades!

As for the fun stuff, Matt and I went downtown to the Shedd Aquarium on Friday.  You guys, I saw an eel that was over 6 feet long and as wide as a person. This thing was huge and I was sure he was going to come through the glass and eat me! (Deep Blue Sea anyone?!) Luckily it didn't happen, and we had fun looking at all the other cool things there.  Sadly I have zero pictures because they don't allow flash photography and everything I took without it didn't turn out well :( 

But afterwards we had Flat Top.  Never had it? You're missin' out! It's a stir fry place where you get to assemble your own bowl with rice/noodles/vegetables/sauces/meats.  They cook it for you, bring it to your table, and then you get to enjoy all of the deliciousness!

and after that, we went to my friend Jill's house for her graduation celebration party! It was a crazy busy day but I got to see a bunch of people I used to work with in high school who I don't really get to see too often.  Unfortunately Matt left early because he didn't feel well. Turns out, he had the stomach flu and just recovered yesterday.  I hope it's not coming for me!!

All of this was just Friday and I still managed to pack in a ton of things on Saturday and Sunday, but this post it getting a little long so I'll wrap it up and be back tomorrow to finish it up! Happy Monday, Ladies:)
