As someone who works in a doctor's office (and an OB office at that!),when I'm home on breaks, I've seen a ton of crazy-ass names. And yes, they are crazy-ass names. I mean, come on, people. Somertyme is NOT an acceptable baby name. Ever. <---- also not an acceptable name but Alanis Morissette apaprently thought so!
After hearing the "Somertyme" gem early this week, I started thinking about what Beyonce and Jay-Z named their daughter {Blue Ivy in case you've been living under a rock} I had to laugh when I thought about all the ridiculous names celebs are going for. (And you all know I'm a celeb junkie!)
For Example:
Bear Blue from Alicia Silverstone
Apple from Gwenyth Paltrow
Moroccan & Monroe from Mariah Carey
Egypt from Alicia Keys
Reignbeau & Freedom from Ving Rhames
These names are just bad news bears. Most of them make me think of inanimate objects:
or strippers, but I'll spare you from those pictures;)
What do you guys think? Would you ever name your child something crazy? I'm still thanking heaven my mom's name pick won or I could be signing posts as Tyson.
And this is how I feel about that:
And on that note, Happy Thursday:)
Pink Kisses &Wishes,
Mallory (Whew, that's sooooo much better than Tyson! What was he thinking?!)
Omg I so agree. When I heard Blue Ivy I was like "What? That doesn't even make sense!" I like unique names, but not made up ones!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day!
UGH! I missed a post...again...stupid Blogger!
ReplyDeleteI like unique names, but these celebs are going a little over the top! haha
I think of inanimate objects and strippers, too! lol
I'd have to agree that some of these names are a bit over the top...especially somertyme.
ReplyDeleteI've never liked my name Robin, but I suppose it is better than the celeb names!
I hope you'll check out my blog, plus a link up called Wish! {out loud} that I hope you'll participate in!
