Offended

I was doing my usual blog catch up earlier this week, and I came across an unassuming post.

Until a certain line.

It mentioned something derogatory about weight/body types.  It was a completely offhanded comment, and I'm sure that the author in no way meant to be insulting. Now, the line to which I'm referring was something along the lines of how she didn't want anyone to think that "her thighs touched in the middle" because that would mean she was fat and that might be "the worst thing ever".

Whoa. Back up there, because I'm pretty sure that my thighs have touched.  Since birth.
Has anyone ever seen these ads? They're awesome and I would highly recommend checking them out!

Over these past few weeks I've ready soooo many "I want to lose weight for New Years" posts, and I think it's fabulous we're all kicking our butts to be healthy.

However

I know how easy it is to get caught up into wanting to, and doing anything we can, to look like this:

But I think that we all (me included!) need to stop obsessing about weight, at least just for a minute, and remember:

Thank you gymnastics and cheerleading legs, I love you in all your muscular, strong, curvy, beautiful, thigh-touching glory.

Pink Kisses & Wishes,
Mallory

  2. I totally agree! I think that my thighs have always touched in the middle. It's sad to see that only one kind of body type is considered "beautiful" these days, when it is just unattainable for most people.

    Thank you for sharing!

  3. What a great post! I love the images. My thighs have always touched, because I have always played volleyball, and I get more compliments on my legs than anything else!

  7. I've only seen petite girls who are a double zero have thighs that don't touch. I hide my bathroom scale for the entire week and only weigh myself on Monday morning. It's not the number on the scale, it's how I feel about myself, how much better my clothes fit that I'm concerned with. Kudos to you for calling this to girls attention!

  9. Huh? Womens thighs aren't supposed to touch in the middle!? o.O

I don't know the exact blog you're referring to, but I can think of a few people I read who might write that. *sigh*

Seriously. If your thighs touching in the middle is the biggest problem you have...
